Biography



Ripollés, born in Castellón, Valencía in Spain in 1932, is a Mediterranean artist with enormous vitality and joie de vivre. After a difficult childhood in post-war Spain, he moves to Paris, where he discovers a new world of creativity and freedom.

Ripollés, who returns to the hinterland of Castellon in 1932, loves to paint in the blazing sun, surrounded by nature.

His unique form language appeals to positive and deep universal feelings. He expresses his joie de vivre and never waning energy not only on large scale canvases but also in his impressive sculptures. Sculptures that have taken over the public spaces in cities like Valencia, Castellón, Madrid, Sevilla, Venice, Ede and Kerkrade.
